Early bird catches the worm

I was one of the last people in the office to finish lunch today. It’s now 12:08. The lunch restaurant downstairs officially closes at 1pm but doesn’t really serve after 12:30.

It’s also perfectly acceptable to eat dinner at 5pm. Most families do. Restaurants close their kitchens at 9pm anyway.

Just a cultural observation, we eat early.

Maybe we think there’s not going to be any food left if we leave it to later.

  1. I finished a six month stunt in Finland not so long ago and it amazed me the amount of people that would have lunch at 11am and they would start their working day at 9am. I somehow got used to that rhythm and now eating at a normal 12.30pm seems strange, but I guess it’ll only be time before I get used to eating at the “normal” hour again.
